Tanjung Balai ferry terminal is the main port of Karimun Island where the passenger ferries from Malaysia and Singapore arrive. Tanjung Balai Terminal is connected to other parts of Karimun Island via road. Karimun island does not have an airport so the only way in and out of here is the ferry. The Tanjung Balai ferry is easily reachable by car or mikrolet. Mikrolets are small cars or minivans that are popular in this part of the world. These are locally called Oplets.
