In a move to make commute easy for the attendees of the Northern Zone MADANI Rakyat activity, the government has launched free ferry and bus services. The event will take place at the Sungai Nibong Pesta location in Penang for three days beginning this Friday. A complimentary shuttle service will be offered from the jetty to the Sungai Nibong Pesta location. “We understand that the Pesta location is in a densely populated region, thus visitors are recommended to use public transportation. “Police have plans to overcome traffic congestion,” he stated in an interview with Mutiara FM radio today.
He also stated that free bus transport will operate from 10 am to 10 pm throughout the event.
Deputy State Secretary (Management) of Penang, Abdul Kahar Abdullah, announced the initiation of free ferry services from Sultan Abdul Halim jetty in Butterworth to Raja Tun Uda jetty on the island. Additionally, complimentary shuttle buses will transport visitors from the jetty to the event site, with further free bus services available from Universiti Sains Malaysia and Queensbay Mall parking lots.
Acknowledging the potential density at the Pesta site, Abdul Kahar encourages the utilization of public transportation, supported by police plans to manage traffic congestion.
